WHO WE ARE
LAURA JANES
Artist, teacher and organizer, Laura has been painting for over 45 years. Educated at San Diego State University with continuing education throughout her career, Laura currently has her studio in Big Bear City, CA. She has been represented by galleries in California and Arizona, has been part of a traveling exhibition in conjunction with the US Forest Service and the Smithsonian, and is currently preparing work for showing this fall.
She created the Big Bear Atelier in 2002 to teach art through classes, camps and workshops. Beginning in 1965 she has taught in the San Diego public school systems, at locally through Serenity Place Gallery and Camp de Benneville Pines as well as teaching privately.
