FALL
EARLY MORNING FOREST HIKE
LIFE DRAWING- This class is held indoors, takes place after breakfast and uses a live, nude model. We provide easels, drawing boards, paper, charcoal, pencils, erasers, cardboard drawing tube (to hold completed drawings), aprons and all supplies needed to participate.
PLEIN AIR PAINTING- With easels, paint, brushes and canvas we will go out into the field and capture the beauty of our surroundings. Again, all materials to participate in this class are provided.
LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY- Held in the field and with some instruction on the veranda, photographs will be taken in the afternoon and also during the early morning hike, to capture the beautiful early morning light. You will need to bring your digital camera. There will be no printing or working with the computer to correct a bad image after it has been taken. The focus of this class is to learn how to take a good image that will not need to be retouched or manipulated. There will be a slide show of these photographs presented at the end of the retreat.
All levels of art skills will be welcomed.
Beginners will receive instruction in fundamental art skills, intermediate level artists will build upon those skills already honed as well as develop new skills and advanced artists can have an opportunity to brush up on technique, enhance skills, work with a live model and have the beauty of nature to draw and paint from.
